The reason that these piñatas were filled with seeds is that they represented a good harvest when they came spilling out. And having a good harvest lead people to believe that they would be very prosperous.

One of the main things a child needs to do when attempting to break open a piñata for parties is they need to wear a blindfold around their eyes so they can see where they’re going. The ancient Mayans and the Spanish missionaries both liked to play this game with a blindfold on, so it became a regular tradition amongst many cultures.

A piñata for parties is something highly sought after in the United States of America and it is a regular staple for children party games. Like alluded to earlier, the United States version of the piñata normally takes the form of certain beloved cartoon characters and superheroes instead of the more traditional forms that you would find in Mexico and Spain.
