How To Host A Three Legged Race

Are you about to have a child’s birthday party and at that party you want to have a three legged race? If so, then you are certainly in luck because in this article I am about to explain the best way for you to host a three legged race at a birthday party.

It’s not always the easiest thing to accomplish, and you need to seriously consider the amount of space you have available to you when you do have a three legged race of this kind. You need plenty of room for the children to run so make sure you consider that when choosing the location for the party prior to ever making any official arrangements.

A lot of people think that running a three legged race is easy, but that really couldn’t be further from the truth. You have to really work well with your teammate in order to become good at this game, so you have to have a partner that you trust and a partner that you can get into a good rhythm with in order to succeed in this game and win the race. If you do not form a good rhythm with your partner then you will have a very difficult time winning a race like this because you will be tripping each other up the whole time instead of working in tandem to reach your goal. So please remember that you need a partner that you work well with if you are ever going to have a chance of winning a three legged race together.

The game itself from an instruction standpoint is moderately easy to understand. So you’ll be able to easily explain it to the children and they should understand it fairly quickly and without much difficulty. Some of the things you will need in order for this game to go off without a hitch are as follows: bandannas, prizes, ropes, scarves and a video camera if you want to capture the entire race on video.

When talking about children party games, the three-legged race is a big winner. Here’s exactly how to play:

1. Create a starting line and a finish line using either flour, string, paint or even tape and make it about 20 to 30 yards apart depending on the age of the children racing.

2. Divide up all the children into pairs and do your best to match each child evenly in height so it’s less difficult for them to run with a partner.

3. Tie the left leg of one child to the right leg of another child with either a rope, a scarf or a bandanna. And obviously both children need to be facing in the same direction.

4. Make sure that the rope is secure and not hanging off them so it will not trip them up.

5. Set up all the children up at the starting line.

6. Inform the children that the two legs must stay tied together the entire time, and the only way to win the race is if all three legs are used while running.

7. Signal the racers to start the race.

8. Watch as the children race and award the winning prize to the first one that correctly crosses the finish line.
